ABOUT US

Meyer Farms Takes Pride in Our Miniature Hereford Herd

Our cattle operation had its beginnings in 2002 with an orphaned Simmental bottle calf that Emily Meyer had as her first livestock project for 4-H. Next came some crossbreds and Shorthorns.  In 2008 we bought our first two registered Miniature Hereford heifer calves. It didn’t take us long to fall in love with the breed and their disposition and decide this was the direction we wanted to go with our herd. Today, Miniature Herefords is what we raise. After selling off our “traditional” cattle we invested in five more breeding females. We’ve slowly grown our herd using our own breeding stock, quality bulls, and infusing high excellent genetics by AI from the most high profile sources in the Mini Hereford industry.  Our operation is all about producing show quality Miniature Herefords with excellent reproductive traits and carcasses with the best eating beef to grace the table.

Our Miniature Herefords are hand fed. They have a docile disposition that makes them easy to work with for show cattle and lends itself naturally to being the most tender and palatable beef to be eaten. We have good facilities and we pay the utmost of attention to all aspects of our herd’s health. We have good pasture and quality hay. Our genetics produce show cattle that will do well in any show ring and our feeding formulas produce beef for the table that is simply stated, exquisite.
